Dan Saieed moved to Chattanooga to work for the Hamilton County, Tennessee government in 1976. Since 1982, he has served as Director of Development, leading the department that manages grants for the county. Dan is a member of the board of directors of the Chattanooga Technology Council. He chairs the board of the National Medal of Honor Museum and is president of the Navy League of Chattanooga. He is also the immediate past chair of the Chancellor’s Roundtable at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and president of the Signal Mountain Lions Club. His involvement with the Friends of Moccasin Bend dates to 1997, when he was involved in transferring initial County properties on Moccasin Bend to the National Park Service for the newly designated park unit. Later he helped host the initial visit of representatives invited to serve as consultants from the Native American tribes that are culturally affiliated with Moccasin Bend. He and his wife, Karen, live on Signal Mountain near Chattanooga. They have a son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Alicia, who reside in Chattanooga.
